Ya-Yin Lo/ Organ

Born in Taipei. Master of Music in Church Music and Doctor of Musical Arts Candidate at the Shenandoah Conservatory of SU in Winchester, Virginia, USA. Major in Church Music/Organ Performance; Minor: Vocal Performance. Began learning the piano at age four, under the guidance of her father. Her organ teacher was Professor Maosheng Chen, a senior figure in church music. During her studies in church music in the US, she studied under Professor Steven Cooksey and Professor John Walker. Her piano teacher were Professor Lu Xueying and Professor Xusheng Chen.

While at Shenandoah University, she served as the full-time organist for the Chapel Service, and was invited to perform with the Shenandoah Music Academy at several Bach-Handel Music Festivals. She received an honors student award and an award for excellence in keyboard solo. She was the full-time organist at the First Baptist Church of Winchester, Virginia. While in the United States, she was employed as the organist for services at Presbyterian, Baptist and Lutheran churches. She gave numerous concerts in the US, especially in Virginia. She also traveled to Leipzig, Germany for organ studies. Ya-Yin is a member of the American Guild of Organists. After returnig to Taiwan, she was invited to serve as organist or guide organ playing for various Presbterian Churches and at local universities. She performed several concerts around Taiwan. She also composed music for offertory hymns for the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, published in the church’s newsletter in Taiwan Presbyterain church. In 2015, Ya-Yin received the Outstanding Teacher Award in Gerneral Education from Aletheia University. She is currently a full-time leturer in the Department of Applied Music at Aletheia University.
