Yi-Fang Lee/ Pianist

A prominent Taiwanese pianist, she received gifted music education from an early age. Upon graduating from high school, she was admitted to the Department of Music at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) with the top score in the nation. She subsequently completed her Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Piano Performance at NTNU.

During the final stage of her doctoral studies, she was appointed to the Department of Applied Music at Aletheia University. Beyond performance, teaching, and research, she gained extensive administrative experience. Her administrative roles included Chair of the Department of Applied Music, Chief Secretary of the Secretariat, Dean of Academic Affairs, and Acting President. She currently serves as the President of Aletheia University.

Yi-Fang has been invited to perform solo, chamber music, and concerto concerts in various countries including Poland, Italy, Japan, China, and Hong Kong. She has collaborated with ensembles such as the Taipei County Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Century Symphony Orchestra, Zeus Philharmonic Orchestra, R. O. C. Navy Band, Aletheia University Symphony Orchestra, and Aletheia University Wind Band. Her concerto repertoire includes works by Haydn, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns, and Poulenc, encompassing both piano concertos and double piano concertos. In addition to solo recitals, she has performed over thirty piano duo concerts with pianist Mr. Wei-Chi Lin.

Yi-Fang is frequently invited to premiere or perform works by contemporary Taiwanese composers, including piano solo and chamber music by professors Mao-Shuen Chen, Fang-Long Ko, Jin-You Lin, Wen-Dar Juang, Ching-Wen Chao, Chia-Lin Pan, and Pei-Wen Yan.

In academic research, she has received grants from the National Science Council for her special research projects:

  • "A Study of Interpretational Changes in Beethoven’s Piano Sonatas Based on Seven Performers’ Editions—Focusing on Six Early Works"
  • "Research on Rameau's Keyboard Works"

She has published numerous academic papers and has been consistently selected as an Outstanding Research Faculty at Aletheia University. She is also the author of the monograph: "Jean-Philippe Rameau's Keyboard Solos—A Study of Stylistic Vocabulary and Piano Performance Practice."
